INDIANAPOLIS - A 79-year-old man was beaten during a car theft on Indianapolis' east side Tuesday morning, police said.
Officers were called to the 1600 block of East Washington Street about 2:20 a.m. Tuesday.
According to a report from Indianapolis Metro police, a man jumped into the car of Donald Okey, 79, and told him to stop at the next street.
The suspect then beat Okey and took his watch and his car, police said.
Okey did not report seeing a weapon.
