INDIANAPOLIS - Police are investigating after a 79-year-old man was beaten in a home-invasion robbery in Fountain Square this weekend.
Clifton Courtney told police that he was in his kitchen at his home in the 1600 block of Draper Street when three men kicked in his back door just before 10 p.m. Sunday.
Courtney said one of the men struck him several times in the chest and the hands with a long gun, threatening to kill him if he didn't give him money, while the other men searched the home.
Courtney told police he threw his wallet on the ground, and that the men grabbed it and left. He said there was $5 and a credit card inside.
Courtney described the men as white with slender builds, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and shorter and all in their late teens or early 20s.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Indianapolis police or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
