ANDERSON, Ind. - A man was arrested Sunday after an 8-year-old girl told police that she was forced to perform a sex act dozens of times over the course of two years.
Anderson police Detective Joel Sandefur said Joshua Anderson, 33, was taken into custody after the girl told authorities that Anderson engaged in inappropriate contact with her on Fridays, while her mother was at work.
A probable cause affidavit indicated the girl told police that Anderson threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the abuse and that the last sexual contact was last Friday.
Police and the Department of Child Services were contacted after the girl confided in her father and stepmother, police said.
Sandefur said that Anderson told investigators that he never had inappropriate contact with the child.
Anderson faces three felony counts of child molestation, criminal deviate conduct and child exploitation. Police are still investigating, and additional charges are possible.
