Firefighters with the Muncie Fire Department responded to the scene on South Walnut Street just before 4 a.m. When they arrived, flames were showing through the windows of the two-story home.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock out the fire. During a search of the home, the Delaware County coroner says Vincent Gibbons was pronounced dead at the scene.
