Agencies offer alternative trick-or-treat events in central Indiana for Halloween

Area malls, fire stations hold Halloween events

INDIANAPOLIS - Several Indianapolis agencies are offering options for parents looking for an alternative to taking their children trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Little Hoosiers can pick up candy from any Indianapolis Fire Department station and the Safe Night Halloween Trunk or Treat event will be held and the Indiana State Fairgrounds from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Washington Square Mall and Greenwood Park Mall will host trick-or-treat events from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in a safe environment that fun for kids and convenient for parents.

"I miss the neighborhood I feel we used to have when I was little. These events make me feel safe and I don’t have to worry. We have fun," parent Angie White said.

Parent Kristina Lowery agreed.

"It just makes you feel better because nowadays people are crazy. You never know whose house you're going to," she said.
