SPEEDWAY, Ind. - Allison Transmission and United Auto Workers Local 933 have reached a tentative agreement.
The terms of the five-year deal have not been disclosed, and the 1,500 UAW members must still ratify the contract.
The previous contract expired Wednesday, but the two sides agreed to extend the expired contract to allow time to negotiate the new deal.
"We are happy to come to this tentative agreement. Both parties have worked hard to develop an agreement that continues to build a future for our employees and Allison Transmission," said Robert M. Price, Allison Transmission's Vice President of Human Resources, in a news release.
