ANDERSON, Ind. -- An Amber Alert issued for three abducted children has been canceled and the man who took them is now in police custody.

Anderson Police say Blake Rindahl abducted 2-year-old twins, Adyson and Peyton and 8-month-old Jayden Rindahl after violently assaulting their mother.

Police were called to the home near the 2400 block of Highland Avenue just after 2 p.m. Blake’s wife told police that he had attacked her and took off with their children.

According to the Anderson Police Department, Blake had violated a protection order when he showed up at the home armed and assaulted his wife before leaving with their children.

The couple had moved to Anderson about two years ago from Minnesota.

Illinois State Troopers stopped Blake in Roscoe, Illinois, not far from the Wisconsin border Sunday evening. Blake was taken into custody and the children were returned to their mother.

Maj. Joel Sandefur with Anderson Police says preliminary initial charges against Rindahl include domestic battery and strangulation but more charges could be added once the investigation continues.
