ANDERSON, Ind. - Police are searching for an Anderson man wanted on a child molestation charge who tried to run over an officer, authorities said.

Dustin Mullins, 28, was spotted driving a stolen SUV near Van Buskirk Road and Raible Avenue just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

When an officer tried to approach the vehicle, Mullins hit the gas, speeding toward the officer and ramming his police car, police said.

The officer fired shots at Mullins, but it's not clear if he was struck.

Mullins drove away from the scene. The stolen SUV was later found in the 2700 block of Arrow Avenue, police said.

Mullins was described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, 260 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 765-649-8310 or the Anderson Police Department at 765-648-6775.
