FISHERS, Ind. - The chairman of the Hamilton County Young Republicans was released from jail on bond after being arrested over the weekend on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Sunday's arrest was the third since 2000 for Mario Massillamany, who resigned as spokesman of the Marion County Prosecutor's Office in 2010 after a drunken driving arrest.
In Sunday's incident, Hamilton County sheriff's deputies said they pulled over Massillamany on East 96th Street about 7:30 a.m. because he was going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Police suspected that Massillamany had been drinking. He was given a certified blood test.
Massillamany pleaded guilty in 2010 to operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated, endangering a person.
He received a 60-day sentence in that case. Massillamany was also convicted of drunken driving in Marion County in 2000.
