Man suffered minor injuries after ultralight aircraft crash in Hendricks Co.

Aircraft clipped tree

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. - One man suffered minor injuries after an ultralight aircraft crashed in southwest Hendricks County on Tuesday evening just before 7 p.m., officials said.

Multiple emergency crews responded to the 7900 block of Masten Road near Stilesville, Ind., officials said.

First responders said one person, the pilot, was on board the aircraft and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said the ultralight crashed after clipping a tree in the yard of a home.

"I would say very lucky, any time you come from the sky, I would think that would be a good day when you're able to be taken away and you're talking and conscious and alert," said Jerry Johnson with the Mill Creek/Coatesville Fire Department.

The incident occurred not  far from the Putnam County line.

The man's identity was not released, but officials said he was taken to the hospital to be treated.
