GIRARD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Authorities say a 38-year-old man suspected of a robbery in Indiana fled to Michigan, where he took a person hostage inside an adult novelty store.
Branch County sheriff's officials tell WOOD-TV that the man was arrested following a standoff Tuesday at the Lion's Den Adult Superstore. It's in Girard Township, near Coldwater.
No one was hurt.
Michigan State Police Lt. David Wood says a police dispatcher was able to establish a rapport with the man by phone, and she was able to persuade him to come out and surrender.
The Clinton, Michigan, man is in the Branch County jail.
According to the sheriff's office, he robbed a drug store in Angola, Indiana, about 10 a.m. It says a police chase ended 25 miles north at the store near Interstate 69.
