INDIANAPOLIS - The man charged in the kidnapping and rape of two women from an Avon Wal-Mart earlier this month has now been linked to a violent Marion County attack, according to Indianapolis police.
Michael D. Parrish, 37, was arrested Jan. 9 on charges of kidnapping two women from an Avon Wal-Mart parking lot and raping them.
Police now say Parrish was involved in a second crime in Marion County. That crime occurred on the 3800 block of South LaSalle Street on Feb. 5.
According to court documents, at least three suspects entered a LaSalle Street home and physically assaulted a 48-year-old woman who lived there. One of those men, police say, was Parrish.
Also charged in that break-in are 41-year-old Anthony Breeden and Royce Edwards. According to Edwards, Parrish bragged afterward about how hard he hit the victim and was smiling and seemed to enjoy it.
The victim in that crime was found to have been cut with a knife and bound with a lamp cord.
Police recovered a surveillance video at a gas station located at 3900 South Keystone Avenue they say shows Breeden and Parrish casing the area.
No charges have been filed yet on Parrish in connection with the Marion Co. case. He is still held on a $1 million bond in Hendricks County.
