MUNCIE, Ind. -
Ball State University sent an alert to students and faculty via email on Friday
BSU police said a male victim reported an attack that occurred about 3 a.m. early Friday morning at Dicks Street and Riverside Avenue.
The victim told police he was walking from The Village to apartments near campus.
“Two black males attacked him with some kind of sharp object, possibly a box cutter,” read part of the public safety notice.
The victim escaped the unprovoked attack, university officials said, and was released from the hospital after being treated for facial injuries.
The attackers got away on foot.
Students are urged to report suspicious activity to BSU police at 765-285-1111.
