Getting a flu shot usually means you have to at least get out of your car, go into a building and wait for your health care provider to receive your vaccination.

But in an upcoming event in Columbus, convenience meets health care.

The Bartholomew County Health Department is offering flu vaccinations while you wait in your car, called the Drive-Thru Flu Clinic.

On October 10, in the flea market area of the Fair Oaks Mall in Columbus, health department officials will give you your shot while you stay in your vehicle.

The cost is $20 for quadrivalent or $30 for high dose which the health department says is recommended for people over 65.

Underinsured or uninsured will be eligible for a free vaccine.

The vaccine event will run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
