BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. -- Bartholomew Co. sheriff's deputies say a truck they were trying to locate was not involved in a deadly crash.

The driver contacted deputies himself and deputies determined that the truck did not hit any vehicle at the scene of a crash at SR 46 and 250 E around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities say the driver is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The drivers of both vehicles had to be extricated by emergency personnel. Rex Money, 54, was taken to the hospital where he later died. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital. One of the passengers in that vehicle was flown to Indianapolis by Lifeline; a second passenger was not injured.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Deputy Kevin Abner at (812) 379-1650 or you can contact the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department’s Tip Line at (812) 379-1712.
