AVON, Ind. - A Ben Davis High School student and a worker at Little Caesars Pizza were arrested in connection to an armed robbery at the restaurant that happened on Saturday in Avon, police said.
Investigators said that Derrek Berryhill, 18, worked at the Little Caesars in the 10000 block of U.S. 36, and was a known associate of Rameil Pitamber, 17.
Police said they found evidence that Berryhill tipped Pitamber about the employees who would be working in the store at the time the robbery occurred.
Both suspects cooperated with investigators and police were able to recover some of the money that was stolen during the robbery, investigators said.
Although Pitamber is 17 years old, Avon police officers said he would be charged as an adult.
Pitamber and Berryhill are being held at the Hendricks County Jail and face several charges including armed robbery, theft, criminal confinement with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit theft.
