Black ice leaves car upside down on I-80/94

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - A Merrillville man was injured Friday morning after rolling his car on I-80/94.

Just after 1 a.m., Michael L. Williams, Jr., 28, of Merrillville, was eastbound on I-80/94 near the 6.2 mile marker.

Williams told state police he hit a patch of black ice and went off the road, where his Grand Am hit hard-packed snow and rolled over onto its roof. The Grand Am came to rest in the two right lanes of eastbound traffic.

Williams was taken by ambulance to North Lake Methodist Hospital in Gary with non-life-threatening injuries.
