MADISON COUNTY, Ind. - Someone dumped a blind schnauzer in the countryside, forcing the dog to be on his own for weeks, the Madison County Humane Society said.
The dog was discovered Tuesday, severely matted and in pain.
"He was hardly able to walk when he was found," the shelter said in an email.
The yet-to-be-named dog was taken to a nearby veterinarian, where he was shaved down and vaccinated.
He has been placed in foster care until an adoptive family can be found.
