Bloomington police investigate attempted armed robbery at College Mall

Police: Nothing taken, nobody injured

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Police were investigating an attempted armed robbery at the College Mall on Friday afternoon.

A man demanded money from two female employees at Journeys Shoes just before 1 p.m., officials with the Bloomington Police Department said.

When one of the two females said she was going to call security, the suspect pulled out a handgun, police said.

Authorities said the women ran to the back of the store and the suspect left the scene.

Nothing was taken and nobody was injured, officials said.

The suspect was described as a black male in his early to middle 20s and approximately 5 feet 7 inches.

The case remains under investigation.
