Bob Glaze, better known as “Cowboy Bob,” and a Central Indiana TV icon, died at the age of 73.

From 1970 to 1989, Glaze hosted “Chuckwagon Theater” and continued to entertain well after.

Glaze was born in 1942 and first appeared on WTTV in 1963 on “Happy Valley Show.” In 1966, he joined the WTTV staff as a camera operator for “Bob Cook's RFD-4” and “The Bernie Nicolei Breakfast Show.”

He made his Indianapolis debut on “Popeye’s Dinner.”

The TV star was inducted into the Indiana Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame in 2014. You can watch the video played during his recognition at the bottom of this story.

Last week, a video posted to YouTube by the Indiana Bicentennial Commission, showed Glaze wishing Indiana a special happy birthday.

The cause of Glaze’s death is unknown at this time.
