INDIANAPOLIS - Authorities have identified a drowning victim that was pulled from a retention pond on the city’s north side Thursday afternoon.
The Marion County coroner identified the victim as 14-year-old Ivan Vargas on Friday afternoon.
Vargas was found near an apartment complex in the 700 block of Lake Nora Court, near 91st Street and College Avenue, just before 3:30 p.m., dispatchers confirmed.
The coroner said the preliminary cause of death was asphyxiation due to drowning.
