ANDERSON, Ind. -

The Indiana State Police bomb squad was called to Athletic Park in Anderson Sunday afternoon.

Police said five military practice grenades were discovered at the park by some kids.

The kids were attending the annual Andersontown Pow Wow and Indian Market at the park when they left the event and headed behind the park to the banks of the White River, where they found the grenades.

Authorities said they thought the grenades were practice grenades that were not known to explode, but they called in the ISP Explosive Ordinance Disposal team as a precaution.

A Delaware County bomb squad joined ISP in the effort to determine exactly what they were dealing with.
