INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Metro Police Department's bomb squad was sent to the Birch Bayh Federal Building and United States Courthouse early Monday on reports of a suspicious package.
Police said the squad was sent just before 3 a.m. to the building located at 46 East Ohio Street.
Once K9 officers located the package, police said the bomb squad found fireworks and drug paraphernalia inside of it.
The package was detonated as a precaution just before 5:30 a.m. and no injuries were reported, police said.
