Boone Co. man sentenced to 56 years for federal child porn, sex abuse charges

Daniel Alan Jines, 37, abused young girl

INDIANAPOLIS - A Boone County man was sentenced to serve 56 years in prison for producing child pornography, federal investigators said.

Daniel Alan Jines, 37, of Whitestown downloaded images of sexually abused children on his home computer. Federal investigators said they found a large collection of the images in Jines' possession.

During the investigation, police discovered that Jines sexually molested a young girl for several years and kept a videotape of the abuse. The incidents happened between May 2008 through May 2010 and the images were reportedly shocking to veteran investigators.

Special Agent-in-Charge Gary Hartwig said no amount of time behind bars seems to be enough punishment for Jines' actions.

“Daniel Jines inflicted permanent psychological, physical, and emotional scars on his young victim and deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison where he can never hurt another child. Protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation is one of (our) most vital missions.”

According to Assistant U.S. Attorneys A. Brant Cook and MaryAnn Mindrum, who prosecuted the case for the government, Jines’ sentence also includes lifetime supervised release and a $5000.00 fine.
