LEBANON, Ind. -- The State of Indiana is seeking the death penalty for a 19-year-old man accused of stabbing a 73-year-old man to death and attacking the man's 68-year-old wife during a home invasion earlier this year.
Zachariah Wright, 19, is charged with the murder of Max Foster. Wright is also accused of injuring Max's wife, Sonja in June when he broke into their home.
Sonja Foster told police that she woke early Sunday morning to find a man inside their home. That man, who police say was Zachariah Wright, stabbed her husband to death and then attacked her.

"The crimes this Defendant is alleged to have committed are horrific and serve as everyone's worst nightmare," said Prosecuting Attorney Todd Myer. "Being awakened in your home, in the middle of the night, to find an intruder standing over you armed with a knife."
Wright faces 23 criminal charges in connection with the crime.

"When someone commits this type of crime he should have to face the ultimate penalty, which, in the state of Indiana, is a sentence of death," said Meyer.
