INDIANAPOLIS - The suspect in a multiple-stabbing on the southeast side has surrendered voluntarily after police say he barricaded himself in a second-floor apartment.
IMPD officials have identified the suspect as Steven Skipworth, 62. Police said Skipworth is looking at a preliminary charge of aggravated battery.
The incident occurred in a house on the 400 block of South Shelby Street. The owner of the house told RTV6 that a tenant renting the upstairs portion had allegedly stabbed the owner's wife, along with a male tenant who lived downstairs and apparently came to her defense.
The male victim was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. The female victim was reportedly in stable condition with minor injuries.
Police set up a perimeter around the house and a crisis negotiation team was called in to communicate with the suspect. Police said they received no response prior to the suspect voluntarily surrendering to police.
