Brothers arrested in shooting death of Lizton man

INDIANAPOLIS - Two brothers have been arrested on preliminary murder charges in the fatal shooting of a man near Ben Davis High School.

Metro police arrested Tryon Kincade, 19, and Tyshaune Kincaid, 18, early Friday morning for their suspected roles in the Wednesday afternoon killing.

Formal charges have not yet been filed, but the Kincaids were taken into custody on preliminary murder and robbery charges.

Sgt. 1st Class James Vester, 32, of Lizton, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting at the Wyckford Commons apartment complex.

Vester was an Iraq War veteran with 12 years of service in the Indiana National Guard. He volunteered his time to help give proper military honors to other fallen heroes.

Sources told RTV6 that Vester went to the apartment complex to buy an iPad in what might have been a robbery setup.

Officials said he answered a Craigslist ad and was buying the iPad as a Christmas gift for his parents.

Vester leaves behind a wife and a 1-year-old son.
