MARION, Ind. - A central Indiana man faces felony murder and other charges in connection with the disappearance of his aunt in 2011.
Donald Burns, 49, faces charges of murder, forgery, theft and receiving stolen property, officials said.
The remains of his aunt, Dorothy Heard, 74, were found in Grant County.
Before she vanished on June 13, 2011, Heard left a note saying she and Burns were visiting Wabash, about 20 miles north of Marion.
Police said Burns had been a person of interest in the case after he used Heard’s credit card and tried to sell her ring.
Burns is currently imprisoned on a child molesting conviction. His parole was revoked on a resisting law enforcement charge following his aunt's disappearance.
