INDIANAPOLIS -- One day before what could be a make-or-break primary, presidential candidates from both parties visited Indianapolis to make their case to voters one last time.

Republican front-runner Donald Trump spoke to a packed house of supporters at Carmel's The Palladium, where he announced endorsements from former Purdue University men's basketball coach Gene Keady and former Notre Dame head football coach Lou Holtz.

Downtown, Democratic Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders spoke to a crowd that filled Monument Circle.

Sanders began his speech with an attack on Carrier and parent company United Technologies for moving 1,400 jobs out of Indianapolis and to Mexico.
Sanders received the endorsement from the United Steelworkers Union, which represents many of the Carrier workers who will be losing their jobs.
"The greed of United Technology is almost unbelievable," Sanders said. "They have no shame. This is a company that in 2014 provided its retired CEO with a severance package of $172 million. This is a corporation that pays its current CEO $14 million a year. This is a company that has received $6 billion in defense contracts from the taxpayers of this country just last year."

Sen. Ted Cruz ended the candidates' appearances for the day with a 7:30 p.m. rally at the Indiana State Fairgrounds that featured appearances by Curt Smith, president of the conservative Indiana Family Institute, and conservative TV and radio personality Glenn Beck.

Cruz told attendees that he and running mate Carly Fiorina were the only choices if they wanted a constitutional conservative" president who would repeal Obamacare and honor the Second Amendment.

Democrat Hillary Clinton and surrogates Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton were all over the state this weekend, culminating in a rally with the candidate Sunday at Douglass Park Gymnasium in Indianapolis.
