Car crashes into utility pole causing thousands to lose power in Fishers

FISHERS, Ind. - A car crashed into a utility pole early Thursday causing thousands of Fishers residents to lose power.
The crash was reported about 5:30 a.m. near 136th Street and Brooks School Road. Duke Energy officials said about 3,100 residents were without power at the height of the outage.
By 7 a.m. crews had restored power to about a third of those residents. Duke Energy advised the remaining residents that it could be several hours before power was restored.
