Carmel police said at roughly 8 p.m. Sunday, officers were alerted to a possible shooting on the 4600 block of Somerset Way South. There, police said they found a man and woman dead of gunshot wounds.
They were identified as 38-year-old David Hall and 40-year-old Shannon Hall. Police said preliminary investigation led them to believe David's wounds were self-inflicted.
"It's tragic any time that a domestic situation has come to this type of conclusion," said Carmel Police Capt. Lee Goodman. "It's unneeded. There are other avenues for people. It's just unfortunate it happens like this."
Carmel investigators said the parents of Shannon were in the home at the time, along with two children, ages 8 and 10. We're told one of the grandparents took the kids away from the scene of the incident immediately following the shooting. Afterward, they were taken to stay with family members.
