Construction underway on newest development
CARMEL, Ind. -- A new hotel is planned along the Monon Trail in Carmel – along with hundreds of new apartments, condos and retail locations.
The developments are part of the next phase of Carmel's multimillion-dollar City Center project along Rangeline Road.
Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard joined developers Thursday in breaking ground on one of those developments – a five-story, 720-space parking garage wrapped in residential and retail units.
"It falls to this generation of people in Carmel to do something very special, and that is to design and build a brand new city," Brainard said.
Construction on two more buildings is set to begin this summer, with construction on the hotel slated to begin in 2018.
