DELPHI, Ind. -- The family of Abigail Williams is remembering their sweet and caring girl by collecting items to fill boxes that will benefit children this Christmas - and they're asking for your help to make that happen.

It started as a small family project, according to Abby's mother, Anna, and has turned into a much larger project that they're hoping the community will get behind.

"Abby's Angel Boxes" are rooted in healing a heartache and honoring the life of a young girl whose life was taken before she could even celebrate her 14th birthday.

Anna says they are hoping to fill at least 100 boxes in Abby's memory but would love to fill more. Each box will contain a Christmas surprise as well as dozens of other items that a child in need could use.

“I’ll also be looking for sewing kits to give to their mothers or aunts,” said Anna. Abby’s family will be collecting items for the boxes every Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Delphi Middle School through November 3.

There will also be a packing party on Friday, November 10 at Delphi Middle School at 3 p.m. to fill the boxes with all of the supplies they collect.

“Come one, come all," said Anna. "All the families are welcome – we’d love to have the kids there."
