INDIANAPOLIS - Formal charges were filed Friday against three suspects accused in the robbery and murder of a Ricker's BP gas station employee.
Suspects Shayne Thompson, 19, Janai Hudson, 20, and Ryan Clark, 20, have been charged with the Sept. 25 murder of 39-year-old Elvalide Ndiaye, who was on only his second day of the job as a clerk at the Ricker's BP gas station on West 38th Street.
While all were charged with felony murder and robbery, prosecutors identified Thompson as the primary shooter.
"Clearly, in regard to the shooter, our allegation will be that it was a murder," said Deputy Prosecutor Denise Robinson.
Ndiaye's widow said she's still reeling from her husband's killing.
"It's sad that people out trying to make a living working … and somebody came and robbed him and took his life," Tanya Ndiaye said.
RTV6 asked Thompson and Hudson about the accusations. They denied all involvement.
Clark declined to comment about the case.
All three suspects will return to court Tuesday to hear the formal charges against them. They are currently being held at the Marion County Jail without bond.
