INDIANAPOLIS - A child was injured in an accident on the city’s northeast side Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
The incident happened near East 32nd Street and North Emerson Avenue around 4 p.m.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the child was crossing the street with a couple of adults when he ran out into the street ahead of them.
An oncoming car swerved to avoid the child and went into another lane, officials said.
The child fell and hit his head on the back bumper of the car. He was taken to Riley Hospital for Children in good condition after he complained of head and neck pain.
Officials said northbound Emerson Avenue was closed between 30th and 38th streets right after the accident.
