INDIANAPOLIS - Some updates are coming to Lucas Oil Stadium, the Capital Improvement Board announced Monday.
Two additional ribbon boards for electronic messaging will go up inside the 5-year-old stadium, two new suites will be added on the upper-suite level and two food pantries will be converted into small cooking kitchens.
The CIB plans to pay for as much as $2 million to construct the suites and kitchens, and the Colts will foot the rest of the bill.
The Colts will pay for the entire ribbon board project.
CIB President Ann Lathrop said these projects are a good use of taxpayer money.
"There are conventions that use the facility; we just had a wonderful regional basketball game last weekend that was phenomenally attended. These types of improvements help for that, and they also generate revenue for the CIB," Lathrop said.
There is no word yet on when the projects are expected to be completed.
