The roof at Lucas Oil Stadium has been tested and is working as intended, a spokesman for the Capital Improvement Board said Thursday.

Barney Levengood, executive director of the CIB, and John Klipsch, executive director of the Indiana State Convention and Building Authority, both released statements Thursday regarding tests performed on the roof at Lucas Oil Stadium.

“Today the Capital Improvement Board, under the supervision of the Indiana State Convention and Building Authority and its design team, performed two full openings and closings of retractable roof on Lucas Oil Stadium," Klipsch said. "The roof performed as designed.”

The tests come after bolts sheared off the roof when it opened during halftime of the Colts' preseason game against the Bengals. Three fans were struck and injured, two of whom were taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

Levengood said the decision hadn't yet been made as to whether the roof would be open for this weekend's Circle City Classic game between Kentucky State University and Central State University at Lucas Oil Stadium.
