INDIANAPOLIS -- The work on the roof of Lucas Oil Stadium has been completed, and engineers say the building's roof is safe to operate without restrictions.

Colts fans who attended the Sept. 3 preseason game say they heard clanking noises before an object fell while the stadium’s roof was being opened at halftime. Three people ended up getting checked out for by medical staffers.

Engineers had determined that the bolt that fell and seven others in two connection spots were not tightened properly.

It is currently unknown whether the roof will be open or closed for the game on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It is usually determined by the weather outside.

The improperly installed bolts were replaced with a system that includes redesigned washers, longer bolts and double nuts.
