INDIANAPOLIS -- For more than 20 years, staff and volunteers have been delivering food baskets to some of central Indiana's most vulnerable.

Many call them "Santa's Helpers," others call them "Christmas Angels," but for Carolyn Sprouse, the delivery from CICOA is a blessing.

CICOA, a non-profit agency, gave away 200 food baskets and 100 gift cards.

"I was praying because I have nothing for the holidays," she said.

Dozens of people, including Shea Colley, loaded up their cars Friday morning to bring food to the homes of seniors and people with disabilities, who may other wise not have a special meal on Dec. 25.

"A little amount of food can really go a long way for someone like her," Colley said.

And what can't be packed in the boxes, but still gets delivered are smiles, a good laugh and the opportunity to interact with somebody.

For Sprouse, she is now looking forward to spending Christmas day at home.
