INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis residents can drop off Christmas trees, gift boxes and more at the city's seventh-annual post-holiday recycling event.
Recyclables can be dropped off Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Broad Ripple Park, Ellenberger Park, Garfield Park and Krannert Park.
Each park will have signs to direct people to the drop-off locations.
Event organizers said they are accepting real Christmas trees, gift boxes, cardboard boxes, molded white Styrofoam, old electronics, magazine and catalogs.
Organizers ask anyone bringing a Christmas tree to remove everything from it, including decorations, lights and tree stands.
Last year's post-holiday recycling event brought in a record amount of materials, including more than 4,000 tons of Styrofoam.
