Colts fans anticipating a win got a head start on tailgating early Sunday as the team prepared for victory against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Colts defeated the Vikings 23-20 in the home opener, a promising sign of great things to come in the team’s future.
Following the win, thousands of Colts fans packed Georgia Street to celebrate.
"I think we’re starting a new era here,” fan George Logan said.
Many fans donned Andrew Luck jerseys in hopes that the new quarterback would be the team’s lucky charm.
"(Luck) had to be nervous the first game, but I think he kicked butt this time,” fan Staci Benzig said.
Luck made an impressive final drive, finishing 20 of 31 for 224 yards.
Fans said they’re hoping for another win next week as the team takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
