COLUMBUS, Ind. - A Columbus man pleaded guilty Friday to multiple charges in connection with the death of a 19-month-old child.
Thomas W. Gorski pleaded guilty in a Bartholomew County court to neglect of a dependent in the death of 19-month-old Evan McCue. Gorski also pleaded guilty to attempted drug dealing.
Prosecutors said he could face up to 40 years in prison.
Gorski was arrested in November of 2012 after Evan's mother, Rachel McCue, called 911 and reported the boy was unresponsive. Evan was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital, where he later died.
An autopsy showed that Evan had died from a head injury.
Gorski was not Evan's father, but had been living with the child's mother.
