COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Columbus police will send officers to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a show of solidarity for three officers killed in the line of duty this week.
Columbus Police Lt. Matt Harris just unpacked from attending funeral services in Dallas for the officers killed there by a sniper earlier this month.

He says he went in not knowing what to expect or how he would feel.
"You know, everybody's differences were put aside," Harris said. "I saw officers from New York, from California … it was just like one big family."
Now the department will again send officers out of state to a funeral to support their brothers in blue once arrangements are finalized.
Harris says Columbus police don't typically send officers out of state, but given the extreme circumstances in Dallas and Louisiana, the department felt compelled to show its support in person.
