Construction on four new Carmel roundabouts starts Monday

CARMEL, Ind. – Carmel drivers, begin planning your detours as construction on four new roundabouts begins Monday.

Two roundabouts will be built at the same time on Carey Road at both 136^th Street and Hawthorne Drive.

• The detour route is along 146^th Street and Gray Road or Keystone Parkway.

106th Street and Towne Road will also be closed for construction of a roundabout.

• Detour routes will be posted using Ditch Road, Shelborne Road, 96th Street and 116th Street.

The existing T-intersection at Pennsylvania Street and City Center Drive will be fully reconstructed into a multi-lane roundabout.

• Detour routes will be posted using Carmel Drive, Guilford Road and 116th Street.

All of the roads are scheduled to reopen on November 4.

These roundabouts are part of the CarmelLink 2.0 bond projects approved by the Carmel City Council.
