INDIANAPOLIS - Tyree Coleman's June 28 arrest for parole violations included charges that he showed pornography to a minor, RTV6 has learned.
Coleman was arrested in 2006, and convicted in 2008, of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy who was participating in an overnight church program. Coleman worked at the time as a youth minister at Temple of Refuge Church in Indianapolis.
Coleman was sentenced in 2008 to 9 years in jail for criminal deviate conduct, but had apparently been released on probation in June when he was arrested by IMPD officers for parole violation; one of 27 parolees arrested as part of a Marion County sex offender sweep.
IMPD officials confirmed to RTV6 Monday that Coleman was picked up in part due to new allegations that he showed pornographic images to a minor while on parole. He is currently being held at the Marion County Jail without bond.
Coleman is scheduled to go back before a judge on Aug. 21 at 1:30 p.m.
