INDIANAPOLIS – If you use websites or apps to sell your unwanted items, this could definitely happen to you. A local couple is sharing their horror story after they were robbed at gunpoint while trying to sell their TV.
They listed the TV for sale on “Offer Up,” an online marketplace where you can buy and sell items.
They went to drop off the TV on the west side of Indy Sunday night, but rather than getting cash, they got held up.
While Offer Up gives tips on best practices (such as meeting at your local police station to buy or sell items), the couple didn’t think they’d fall prey to a scam, scheme or crime.
