INDIANAPOLIS - Court documents indicate ex-IMPD officer David Bisard is working toward an agreement to plead guilty to charges related to his April 2013 DUI arrest.
Attorneys for Bisard are working with prosecutors toward a plea deal, according to a motion filed in Marion County.
Bisard was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing Tuesday, but his lawyers filed a motion for an attorneys-only conference.
In the motion, Bisard's attorney John Kautzman indicated that he thinks a plea deal can be worked out in about a month's time.
Bisard was sentenced to 13 years behind bars for driving drunk and ramming his police cruiser into a group of motorcyclists, killing one and seriously injuring two others in August 2010.
On April 27, 2013, Bisard was again arrested on DUI charges following a crash. Officials said his blood-alcohol content at the time of the crash was .22, almost three times the legal limit.
