Court orders bar closed amid prostitution sting

INDIANAPOLIS - A Marion County court issued a temporary restraining order Saturday for an east side bar accused of prostitution.

The Marion Superior Court issued the order Saturday following an investigation into the business, Sabor Bohemio, by IMPD's vice unit. A search warrant was executed March 2 at its location at 4002 E. Washington Street . Several employees were arrested on charges of prostitution and dealing cocaine in that operation.

According to a press release issued Saturday, dancers at Sabor Bohemio offered undercover detectives sex in exchange for money on multiple occasions.

In addition, police said they witnessed topless dancers who exposed themselves beyond what is legally allowed.

Police said Sabor Bohemio is prohibited from offering adult entertainment by city ordinance, and has been previously cited in the past.

The owner of the restaurant, Zeferano Alvarez, 50, of Indianapolis, has been charged with maintaining a public nuisance that facilitated drugs, nudity and sex acts, and violating the scope of his alcoholic beverage permit.
