INDIANAPOLIS - Dispatchers told RTV6 emergency crews responded Monday evening to a man trapped under construction equipment on the city’s west side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) dispatchers said between 5:30 and 6 p.m., crews were sent to the 8300 block of Rockville Road on a report of a man whose legs were trapped under a forklift. Officials later corrected this, saying it was a pallet jack, not a forklift.
Just before 6:30 RTV6 was told by officials that crews were able to pull the man out from under the equipment and his injuries appear non-life-threatening. He is on his way to an area hospital.
Officials said it happened at a storage facility near Country Club Road when a man was using a pallet jack to remove pallets from a truck.
For some reason, authorities said the man fell off the back of the truck and was pinned between the truck and the pallet jack. He was able to call 911 for help on his cell phone while he was still pinned.
It took roughly 30 minutes for crews to free the man.
