INDIANAPOLIS - Crews battled a stubborn fire that sparked at the Ritter Inn early Wednesday.
The fire was reported about 2 a.m. in the 400 block of South Ritter Avenue near Brookville Road and English Avenue.
Crews worked for nearly two hours to douse the flames burning inside the former restaurant. City code enforcement officers said they would demolish the building due to the extensive damages caused by the fire.
A "for sale" sign was posted on the front of the property. Indianapolis Fire Department crews said the building owner lives in Texas.
